Gibson Advanced Jumbo Reissue Acoustic This was made when only 100 per year were being made, and this example was picked out by Phil - he went through dozens of examples, this one has "the top" - most are wide-grained, this has a very tight-grained top, perfectly quarter-sawn, with lots of "silk". Has more clarity than most of the "boomy" examples - big and fat but crystal clear and balanced. A wonderful example, has Waverly butterbean tuners, beautifully grained rosewood back and sides, 1-3/4" at the nut. This is as good as it gets. Sell with original hardshell case for... Gibson "Roy Smeck Radio Grande" 100th Anniversary edition..VERY rare version..not the more common (but still rare) c96-97 version..special anniversary label says #12 of 100..but I've been hearing they only made 2 or 3 dozen, total..has brass plaque on back of headstock that says "100th Ann. model", Very clean, crackfree example..just a little lacquer checking (crazing)..most have MASSIVE checking, from these years, all orig. except nice quality bone nut and saddle put on, this is the fancy version w/ rosewood back and sides, fancy pearl fretboard, and headstock inlays, pearl script saying "Roy Smeck Radio Grande", has a wonderful wide soft "V" neck..1 13/16" at nut..the only issue is minor..the "Firestripe" pickguard, was factory glued down with a rubbery glue, that let the pickguard "shift" slightly..could easily be put back the 16th of an inch, it has "moved"...other than that...it's JAKE..has a huge fat clear sound, as you would expect, from a 12 fret Rosewood Dreadnaught...I've only seen a couple ever come up for sale, and the last one sold for $4,000... sell this VERY COOL guitar, with hard case for... Taylor 712....early issue guitar, with a nice "Bigger" C shaped neck, very rare for a Taylor...Feels GREAT...beautiful Quarter sawn Rosewood back and sides, this guitar got played a LOT...and sounds amazing...opened up Bigtime..has a huge fat, but clear balanced sound..has the usual player's wear, from being used so much..but was taken care of, and is in great shape...some finish on the back of the neck is worn down to the wood ( I personally love that feel..like an old guitar )...neck angle is good..action good..frets have some wear, but have plenty of life left in them...a SUPERB example of this guitar..and probably the best example I have heard yet, w/ orig. H/C ... View front close-up neck wear back back close-up |
